In our society today, we are under the assumption that people are suppose to be considered equal; regardless of race, gender or religious background. It is instilled in us, by parents, school etc., that we are all supposed to be treated the same and given the same opportunities.
But as we know sometimes life and society are not so perfect, right?
I decided to sit down with Rocky, a female fire fighter, so she could tell her story of her struggles and triumphs in a heroic field few girls consider to be glamorous.
Q: Rocky, how long have you been a fire fighter?
A: I started volunteering just about a year ago.
Q: What made you want to be a fire fighter?
A: Well, my father was a fire fighter, and he loved it. My whole life I grew up with four brothers and all their guy friends, so when it came to finding something I loved, I knew it wasn't going to be shopping or the beach.

responders who aren't always acknowledged the way police and
paramedics are.
Good for Rocky for jumping into a male-dominated world and for
doing what she loves!
My dad and brother are both volunteers. I personally couldn't do
it and have a lot of respect and admiration for those who do.
