The Fourth of July holiday is fast approaching and many families get together to celebrate. Whether you plan on celebrating by going on a picnic, or going to relative's house, you may have a hard time deciding what to bring. You may want to consider bringing along some treats that celebrate the holiday. Here are just a few red, white, and blue treats you might want to try.Flag Cake
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Serving Size: 12
Ingredients:
2 pints of strawberries
1 package of frozen pound cake, thawed, cut into 14 slices
1- 1/3 cups of blueberries
1 tub of cool whip topping, thawed
Directions:
First, slice a cup of strawberries for the second layer of the cake and cut the left over strawberries in half for the stripes on the cake. Line the bottom of a 13 inch by 9 inch cake pan with the thawed slices of pound cake. Place the sliced strawberries and blueberries over the cake slices until there is an even amount. Then place the tub of cool whip on top of the strawberries and blueberries to make an icing. Use the strawberries cut in half as the stripes and the left over blueberries as the stars in the upper left corner to create the flag design on top of the cool whip.
