RatatouilleTHQ (Multi-Platform)

After Pixar didn't deliver the goods with their last movie tie-in game, Cars, I wasn't very keen on attempting yet another game inspired by a movie that doesn't seem very likely to fare well as a video game. All reservations aside, I gave Ratatouille a fair shot. And given that it's a game aimed for kids there's plenty of action and adventure even for the seasoned gamer.
When you think about it, Ratatouille does sound like it could work as a game. If you saw the movie, our rat hero Remy darts about, avoiding cutlery and bad food at every moment; the folks at THQ have created their game around just that. Remy the rat spends most of the game scurrying at lightning pace to ensure he lives long enough to conjure up dishes deserving of five stars.

The meat of the game has Remy collecting cheese (of course), apple cores (for taste) and...stars (for action platform-game purposes). To play a simple game like Ratatouille is to let go of all critiques - it a Pixar film about a rat, for Pete's sake - that go into most action games. It's simple, it's bare-bones (outside of Gusteau points that unlock new power ups, amongst other stuff) and guess what? It's very fun!
