Obesity is one of the worrying crises facing our nation today. We should all be doing our part to fight becoming overweight (or obese) by dedicating ourselves to a healthy lifestyle. My weight loss has been the result of small, gradual changes in my life that have added up to improve my body and my life. For instance:Every morning I wake up and put on my running shoes. I stretch and head out for a nice, relaxing stroll. This early morning power booster not only increases my fat and calorie burning capabilities, but it also lifts my mood for the rest of the day.
Instead of ordering soda at restaurants, I order a glass of ice water. When you drink ice water, your body burns added calories by warming your body back to its normal temperature. Tip: Drink a glass of ice water right before you go to bed, it keeps your metabolism up and running while you sleep.
I stick to a healthy diet, consisting of fruits, vegetables, and lots of lean meat. "Crash" diets have never appealed to me because you're hungry all the time and you'll gain all the weight right back when you stop dieting. "Crash" diets have not proven to help my long-term weight loss.
