Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The Best Potter Flick

The first three Harry Potter films were simply fun, fluffy movies about magic. The fourth was a little darker. The fifth, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is just...intense. There's no other way to describe the 2 hour, 18 minute film, which actually seems to fly by despite its length.

Quick summary for those who haven't read/don't remember the book: Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) returns to Hogwarts for his fifth year after confronting Lord Voldemort only a few months before. He discovers that (thanks to the Ministry of Magic's false propaganda) the entire wizarding world is against him and Dumbledore, and no one believes that You-Know-Who is back. Only Harry's friends and some other brave wizards and witches, who belong to a secret society known as the Order of the Phoenix, believe him and are ready to fight against Voldemort and his supporters.

FINALLY HARRY POTTER IS OVER WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! AMEN!
What happened to Quidditch? Ron's supposed to get on the team and
everything. Plus they left out most of the department of
mysteries!
i liked it. umm...i really dont remember the book. i mean, i read
it so i knew what was going on, but i didnt remember little
details, so i cant compare. but overall, it was nice. the fianl
fight scene at the ministry was sick (in a good way)
Harry was a lot cuter then in number 4. It was his bast one so
fare. A he still has 2 more to go.
they focused too much on little scenes and left alot to be done
with the fight scenes...i was disappointed with the fight scenes

im a book buff, so i prefer the readings to the movies
the movie sucked butt at the beginning and middle parts. but the
end was hott! it was great at the end l0l
it wasnt good as i expected, sure it wasnt good as the book but
still at least the ending like the fighting and death scene could
have been better
i liked the movie. i already seen in twice. once regular and once
in imax. and i already bought tickets to see it again in imax. now
obviously the books gonna be better people. i meant its the book!!
lol. but i admired the girl that played luna lovegood. she was
amazing and personified luna exactly the way i pictured her. i
actually think that she is my faorite. shes soo, idk, different.
her blatent disrepect for tradition and her blunt honesty is
honorable. plus daniel radcliffe is hott! he has grown so much and
i would love to try to get at him. haha. i really dont like how
lord voldemort is personified however. maybe its his teeth. haha.
for some reason, i personally hate people with wierd teeth or
gaps. lol. sorryy. i cant wait for the 7th book though. now thats
gonna be a keeper.
I didn't like this one as much as I liked the other 4. It didn't
give enough as compared to the book, which was amazing. I really
wish that they would have givin more.
I like it, but I wish there not been cut out some part from book.
But it was good flim! Yet: Book only better...
I don't know how it will turn out...but i bet it will be sooo
awesome!!
The Movie was sweet! I loved it!!! But I must admit it left a lot
of stuff from the Book. I LOVED THE MOVIE AND THE BOOK!
this movie was horrible it couldve been ten times better and i
wasted my money on this movie but if they make any other movies
they better be ten times better cause they lost my vote 4 harry
potter i might have 2 read the book
The BEST movie so far.
it was amazing i did miss things that were in the book but it was
alot better than the 4th movie
IT WAS COOL!!!!!
it sucked compred to the book
I understand that they can't put everything from the book. But I
just found the film to be a little...choppy. It jumped from this
to that so quickly. It was definitely filmed different from the
other movies.
But oh well. It was good.
Dudley was portrayed as the typical English chav in our society, a
rebel without a cause, even in the books he is portrayed as this,
this film clearly showed his rebellion to choose what he wants to
wear himself, to show a growth in the character, rather than
having him the same throughout the books. Remember, its a piece of
English literature, and an English film, this is complete British
chav society
i watched the film yesterday, i read the books, and this totally
refreshed my memories, although some bits may have been left out,
but they can't put the WHOLE book into it because then it would be
like 12 hours long, so when people complain about it, i think
people should just realise that. Also missing "important action"
costs too much money "suspence" takes too much time and makes the
film slower and "funny scenes", remember this is a film for 12
year old kids aswell, it's a 12A you know, a lot of the humour is
very adult, they can't put it all in
I thought it was a brilliant film, people just need to take into
consideration how much time, money and effort is put in, and they
cant waste that on silly things that arent necisarry to the plot.
x
I just came home from seeing the movie.
Now, I did like the movie, I liked it alot...but since I've read
the book, the book seems to be better than the movie. The movie
was really good, but it was so fast paced, and they left out many
things and changed things...and ahh.
But, I do understand that the book was very long, and that it
would be very hard to include everything in the movie.

I hated the way Duddley* was portrayed. In the other movies he was
dressed very proper, and the way he acted was just...well,
Duddley. But in this movie, he was dressed all gangster, and even
the way he talked was ridiculous. I know it was probably to show
that he was a bully, but in the past movies he was a bully anyway.
Ah, I dunno.

All in all, great movie. I loved the fighting scenes.

Sorry this was so long :\
woopsie i meant, "It was INTENSE AND SIMPLY AMAZING!" lol i hate
bad grammar.
IT WAS INTENSE SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!! And yes, of course they left
out parts people! If they included everything in the book (and do
note how huge that thing is compared to the other books) it would
be wayyy longer than 2 hours and 18 minutes! (more like 5 hours)
but anyways i went to the midnight showing then saw it again in
IMAX!!! :D (and i didn't have to pay for either of my tickets)
hahaha be jealous :)
I'm not going to lie so much of this movie was left out.
Practically all the important action, suspense and funny scenes
were left out. I saw the midnight showing and I have to say I
wasn't thrilled. I could have waited to see this on cable
telvision. I just hope HP 6 & 7 are good. SO WHO'S READY FOR THE
FINAL BOOK!!!! 4 DAYS AWAY!!!!
I liked the movie a lot... but they left so much out from the
book... that kinda sucked.
I was quite disappointed in the movie I have to admit.
If I hadn't read the book the movie probably would have been
better, but also I think I would have been lost.
I talked to some of my friends after we saw the premiere and the
ones that hadn't read the book were kind of confused on what the
prophecy actually was, and it's not something that is easily
explained.

I just think that the movie version skipped a lot of stuff, such
as all of the action before the students entered the Hall of
Prophecy at the Ministry.
I saw the midnight showing and thought it was FAB! Although I'm
not picky when it comes to movies, it is defintly worth the $9 to
see it again.
I thought this one way much better that the four but they should
have had a bit more with Draco Malfoy seeing as he plays a big
roll in the next one. It was a lot different than the others, I
can't quite put my finger on it but there was something much
different about it.
I saw the movie at midnight tuesday and got to sit by professor
mcgonagall. I personally thought the book was better and needs to
be read to fully understand whats happening in the movie. The
movie itself seemed kind of stop action like and jumped around
quite a bit. Otherwise it was great, and the guys in it are
getting pretty nice to look at too (wink, wink) :P
I haven't seen it yet,but I plan on it soon.
Order of the Phoenix was I think one of the hardest books for me
to read.I mean,I kept getting so mad at Professor Umbridge I had
to put the book down.I hated her...so much.lol.
I seen the movie on Saturday... I set myself up to be really
disappointed since I read the book, I thought the special effects
were incredible. :) They could have made it a little better, like
showed Hagrid when he was at the giants I was looking forward to
seeing them. But I actually enjoyed it and wasnt as dissappointed
as i thought I would be.:)
I liked it, for what it was. There was a couple of things the bf
didnt catch and I had to explain, cuz well, reading the book
beforehand really does help. Things like "Padfoot" isn't explained
in the movies... just looks like Harry's screaming insanity.
Hahaha
this was my favorite movie by FAAAARRR. i didn't much like the
book, thought it was a bit lack-luster. this movie, though--it was
visually stunning and the well-directed. i loved it.
The lady who played Umbridge in the movie was awesome.
I liked the movie. Of course the books are way better, but they
did incorporate a lot of the book into the movie. It was better
than POA. That one was jus disappointing. I gotta give it to the
director, he made it seem more, for lack of better words, grown
up. Luna was the best.
I'm going to see the movie tonight. :D
The book was awsome though.
I really loved the movie!!!!!! I had all that I wanted in it....
well.... most of it. But the length isn't the problem with HP, it
is the critics that really piss me off. They really need to back
off just a bit. I loved how they portrayed Luna and Bellatrix.
That describes this movie, vomit.

This is my favorite book of the series, I was expecting so much
more and yet I was horribly disapointed.

The 3rd movie was bad, don't get me wrong. But I could follow it.
It was entertaining. This was just a bunch of scattered thoughts
crammed into a movie. Duddley was ridiculous. I couldn't even
stomach that...

Luna was great. I think they picked a good actress to play her.
The flying scening on the broomsticks was pretty neat but the
whole movie just sucked.
I loved it; it was better than the first three, combined with bits
of the fourth! And Luna was so precious!
They did skip alot, but this director was so much better than the
one who did the third one.
I can't stand to watch that movie.
Personally for me, this was the most boring book in the series.
And this was a great film.

Luna was my favorite part in the movie.
She was my favorite part of the book.
=]
I enjoyed it! But not as much as I enjoyed the book!
That the movie could have been easily two hours longer. There was
a lot packed into it but there was a lot left out. It's a vicious
cycle. I can't wait until the next movie!
dis movie was iight but they did skip a lot and i was kind of
dissapointed,
THey skipped so much in this movie. For example, They completly
missed the fact that both Hermione and Ron become Gryffindor
Prefects. Other than that I thought the movie was great. The woman
who played Umbridge was very good. By the end of the movie I
HATTED her. Good acting.
i love Luna in this movie :-D
she makes me think of Marcia Brady on crack....

good article :)
