The Best Amusement and Water Parks

A thrilling experience

In the heat of the summertime when the vacation season is just at its starting point, the talk of amusement parks such as Six Flags or water parks such as Schlitterbahn Waterpark can be heard amongst friends and loved ones. Thoughts of rollercoasters, cotton candy, swimming pools, and new thrills emerge at the mere mention of such a great adventure, making the desire to go so much stronger. However, the dilemma begins when it is time to choose a destination ideal for fulfilling personal expectations and providing an unforgettable time. Although it may seem like the possibilities are endless, and a place could never be decided upon, the solution to this problem is quite easy. Simply refer to a list of the top ten amusement parks, such as the ones listed below, and take a ride into your number one choice.

10. Six Flags Magic Mountain, California
If you have silently dreamed of spine tingling rollercoasters that will leave your head spinning then this is the amusement park for you. From rides that will have you screaming at the top of your lungs such as the Viper and Dejà vu to more mild ones that you can enjoy with the family such as Cyclone 500 and Sandblasters, the six flags at California has them all. Though rollercoasters and rides may be the main attraction at Six Flags Magic Mountain, there are several other entertainment possibilities to enjoy. For instance, there are a number of shows, such as the Batman Begins Stunt Show and parades that will keep you entertained as you munch on a quick snack. If you find that your stomach is growling some grub, head over to one of the many restaurants like Papa John's, but save some room for dessert; there is a bakery nearby. Boredom nearly impossible at six flags with its rides, games, amazing food, and entertainment for the ticket price range of $35 to $60 depending on whether you buy them online or at the park.

There sure are a lot of amusement parks in Florida I've never been
to most of them.
I'm not surprised Cedar point is #1.
You are most deffinitely missing Paramount Wonder Land in Toronto!
man thats alot from florida, should have some more from
california, like knotts berry farm. or maybe features places
around the world, then it would be more interesting
I think all those disney things in Florida should have been put
together to although room for different travel destinations.

I mean Wisconsin Dells has two of the top ten water parks in the
country and Wisconsin Dells isn't even listed once on here. Given,
every time the travel channel has this "top ten water parks" they
always list a Wisconsin Dells place and say that if it was open
during the winter as well as the summer it would easily be the
best water park in the country, I think it should have been
listed.
I've been to a lot of these parks in Florida and while the themed
thing is nice, the rides at Six Flags Great Adventure are better.
I'm half surprised it didn't make this list.
i went to cedar point this summer, its amazing. they have so many
awesome thrill rides and roller coasters. the cork screw though,
the ride on the homepage of kiwibox, is not the best (hurts your
head). but the Dragster is AWESOME. totally recommend it.
i hate disney world its hell. hong kong disney is nice though its
not too big.
Guess what paigeanne66, I WANT TO BE THERE!BITCH!
RESORT*

DISNEY WORLD IS MY FAVORITE PLACE EVER!INSTEAD OF ALL THE PARKS
SEPERATE YOU COULD'VE JUST PUT WALT DISNEY WORLD RESOT.
The number 1 spot isn't in Florida, I'm surprised.
Happy to see Cedar Point on there. Top Thrill Dragster is the best
rollercoaster in this planet.

Cool article, thanks for sharing. Kind of stinks though that the
majority of these parks were in Florida and not kind of spread
out. =P
I'm Canadian and yet I've been to 8 out of those 10 places... Six
Flags Magic Mountain is AWESOME. Goliath is amazing.. I remember
losing my voice half way through the drop!
cedar point is deff the number one, but the mean streak isnt. that
is a very old wooden coaster, its too jerky and it hurts my head.
but the top thrill dragster, millenium force, and the maverick are
all great, something you wouldnt find anywhere else.
does cedar point still have the most roller coasters in the
country? i remember when the millenium force was such a huge deal
lol.

well, i've always heard that schlitterbaun is the biggest water
park in america...
wow I'm surprised Cedar Point of Ohio is number 1! thats pretty
cool being that its one of the only ones ive been too lol

My friend and I actually rode the fastest rollarcoaster in the
world there a couple years ago!!

We also saw Joey Fatone of NSYNC! (who nicely cut every line
possible) but it was a lot of fun :)
Busch Gardens in Florida is seriously awesome. It's been years
since I have been there, but I remember it being so much fun. I
grew up in FL, and was about an hour from Bush Gardens..and 2.5
from Orlando. So I've definitely done my Disney days, but I still
love going.

I've been to Magic Mountain out in California, I don't remember it
being that cool. Probably because I got sick with heat stroke, and
stomach pains..because it was over 100+ degrees, haha!
about the WISCONSIN DELL'S the waterpark capitol of the world.
While Florida is really nice and the parks are pretty cool,
because you can't find half the stuff anywhere else.. I wouldn't
say that Florida has the best amusement parks.. MGM is deff the
best one down there, possibly the best amusement park i've ever
been to. When it comes to Epcot, Universal and Magic Kingdom
though.. I wouldn't say they are all that great. Epcot is kind of
stupid, it's more for geeks than anything really.. and Magic
Kingdom is beautiful and the rides are pretty kick butt, but
honestly who wants to be in a park that you can barely move in
because so many people go there? Or wait in line for over an hour
to ride a ride that only last a few minutes. Universal doesn't
have many rides but it is pretty neat. Honestly Florida was just
a big dissapointment to me. Check out Splash Lagoon Indoor water
park.
haha we rule. we've got the best everything.
I'm going to Universal and Blizzard Beach this upcoming week!

why isn't Islands of Adventure on here though, that's the greatest
park ever.
carowinds is still the best actual amusement park in my opinion.
partly because it's the only one in my state haha. i don't
consider all the disney parks seperate parks though, i just call
it disney world yanno? but yeah, the disney parks are really nice
and are probably the best in the world. i've never been to cedar
point, i want to go, though.
props on picking cedar point.

but... why were King's Island and Geauga Lake left out?
Florida is the best state ever...F'SHO!
it's 3 places not in Florida and I'd say Ohio is better with Cedar
Point, Six flags, & Kings Island which has only looping wooden
coaster. and cedar point and kings island also have waterparks. so
Ohio is cooler and yeah pro football hall of fame, Rock n roll
hall of fame ohio wins.
i'll be there aug 5-9!!!!
2 places not in Florida??? I've been to Florida and it's beautiful
and all, but seriously. Come on. You just basically said that
Florida is the best state ever or something.
well, i used to work at SeaWorld Orlando...I've been to every
amusement park in Florida, and I'm going to Cedar Point on
Sunday!

YES!
ive always wanted to go to cedar point.
If you go to Cedar Point I think when you compare that to other
parks I dont even know Cedar Point is the
best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The Mavrick Was cool the stop in thae
middle and then the 70 MPH ket go AWESOME! My Face is still the
Mellium Force and TTD (Top Thrill Dragster) If you get a chance to
go GO! TAke a specail trip to Sandusky!!!!!!!!
I Just went to Ceda Point 2 days ago AWESOME!!! I thought only
locals knew about CP because I ask poeple if they have ever heard
of it and they have no clue...SAD!!! you can always get discount
tickets at Meijer (local stores in OH, MI, IN) I got mine for $35!
there was too much emphasis on florida in this article. there are
alot of other states that i'm sure have promising parks
I love Cedar Point. They have the best rollar coasters. I also
loved Universal Studios.
i love cedar point!
i <3 theme parks
just when i thought cedar point couldn't be improved- they added
the maverick!
and you can be sore from riding any roller coaster, no matter
where you go.
ceader point does not suck... its probabally one of the cheapest
parks out there... Universal studios sucks because it gets boring
after a while
Cedar Point sucks. I went there last summer and couldn't stand up
the next day because of how the badly maintained rollercoasters
jerked and shook my back
Griffon is at Busch Gardens Europe, which is in Williamsburg, VA.
It is awesome, I just got back from BG
looks like forida is the best:)
no love for great adventure?
my bf wants to go to six flags, but i keep reading horror stories
on people getting injured or dying! AHHH i dont wana go :(
i am completely obsessed with disney world but i live too far away
and don't have the money to go as much as i would like.

i still manage to go every other year though...and i love it more
and more everytime.

i think animal kingdom should have been added just for expedition
everest alone. i rode it for the first time about a month
ago...and i think it's my favorite ride EVER (just a suggestion to
anyone who might ride it...ride in the FRONT...normally it doesn't
make much of a difference...but i swear, it's a completely
different ride in the front seat)

epcot is still my favorite though. the only slightly thrilling
ride is mission space but the world showcase makes up for it. i
could spend forever there.

the best ride at magic kingdom is space mountain...just don't sit
in the back of the train...it's painful.

out of all the times i've traveled to orlando, i never went to sea
world, universal or any of the water parks though. i probably
should one of these days, but disney always breaks me and i can
never afford it (or have enough time).
I work at Magic Mountain. The best ride is Dive Devil, but you
have to pay extra to ride. It's worth it. ;)
My brother just got back from cedar point. I sooo wanna go, i
havent gone since i was a lil kid!
It would've been cool if you did an international one. One of the
last few times I was in England I went to Alton Towers, that
should be on the list, and I know there's a big one in japan
somewhere that has a lot of record-breaking coasters. And closer
to home.. Six Flags in new jersey..... Kingda ka has the largest
drop, and it's the tallest, fastest coaster in the world.
l0l 6/10 of the parks are florida
well obviously cuz its the best!!
wooh!!
I forgot to add something. I really hate Epcot. To me it's really
boring. I mean sure you get to see the different countries, but
there aren't many rides there. And one time, I was there some
random person sitting in front of me on the boat that crosses from
one side of Epcot to the other, turned around and took a picture
of me. My family went there for Christmas last year. We went to 3
parks, and all of them were wall to wall people. That really
sucked. Because we couldn't walk anywhere and the lines to rides
were well over an hour and a half wait.
I've been to all the disney ones, universal, and sea world. Most
likely cause my sister works at disney and universal. But they are
all my favorite places ever. And my favorite roller coaster of all
all time forever and ever amen is Kraken at sea world. It is truly
incredible. The end.
I live about 2 and 1/2 hours from Orlando. So I've been to all of
those parks. And most of them more than 20 times. I hate Orlando.
But, that never stops me and my family from going there every year
or so. In about a month, we're driving down there to go to either,
Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. If I had to chose between those
2, I think I'd pick Typhoon Lagoon. I do like the lazy river.
omg im so disappointed they didnt put noahs ark in here! its in
the wisconsin dells and its the biggest outdoor waterpark in the
country... honestly.. ughh the dells is the waterpark capital of
the country.. w/e this is a poopy article
i live near nearly every one...gotta love it but what about
islands of adventure?
Six Flags Magic Mountain is the best. Some of the biggest and
scariest roller coasters are there! Cant get enough...
i'm terrified of roller coasters so i'd never go to any of these
places.
busch gardens is STUPID.

cedar point is practically in my backyard.
so i've been spoiled.
I've been to Cedar Point,Universal Studios and Sea World. One of
the coolest rides that you didn't mention from Cedar Point is Top
Thrill Dragster.It goes 120 mph in 4 seconds.It's awesome!:)I
liked Islands of Adventure better than Universal.Sea World was
pretty cool.I got to feed stingrays as well as pet dolphins.A cool
thing I got to do while I was at Sea World was go behind the
scenes at a restaurant.I want to be a chef, so it was a neat
experience. Part of the dining room was a big glass and you got to
see sharks swimming around. We got appetizers and got a behind the
scenes tour of the kitchen,so it was pretty nice. One of the cool
things besides the sharks was the bar.It was shaped like a
horseshoe and had an aquarium in it.
