WoW!

World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft - for those not in the know, the name alone wafts a certain stench of greasy hair, freshly-plucked acne and teenage sweat. It's too bad that the games' reputation of ultimate geekdom precedes it, for anybody that enters its vast world will find love at first log-in.

Even before the entire Springfield populous in The Simpsons played the game and South Park "PWNED the n00bs and WoW elite" World of Warcraft had garnered enough hardcore users to call it more than a mere "cult phenomenon." Millions upon millions of gamers have logged in countless hours trekking through the endless horizons of planet Azeroth in the game that flat-out defines the most obsessive kind of digital entertainment: Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG...these techies just love their abbreviation!).

South Park - "Make Love Not Warcraft" episode trailer:

If you are, in fact, a newbie (n00b!) to Warcraft there is much history to go over, from the series' humble Real-Time Strategy (RTS) beginnings on the PC to the phenomenon that caught the attention of the entire entertainment community. This is the legend of the world...of Warcraft!

Glad to see someone finally did a WOW article on here. I used to
play it a lot until I had my son (yes I'm a girl and I play WOW
lol). Not too keen on it anymore but that's just because when baby
goes to bed I want to relax and I don't find playing WOW to be
relaxing lol.
