Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s

A solid addition, but is it worth the price?

Guitar Here Encore: Rocks the 80s

Activision
(Sony PS2)

After the ultra-success of the previous two Guitar Hero titles, Activision decided to give fans a bonus on July 24, 2007 as they feverishly await the arrival of the third installment in the series. Unfortunately for us die-hards, GHE works more like an extension pack for Guitar Hero 2and does not offer any significant reason to justify the $49.99 MSRP price tag.

It is a game built off of GH2, merely giving us a new selection of songs to help quench our thirsts until the release of GH3 this October, but without any real difference in game play. In fact, the ability to purchase "bonus songs" has even been removed from this edition, bringing the total play list down to around 30 songs.

i def. agree. i cant wait for rock band.
guitar hero 3 wont even be made my the same people. the people who
created guitar hero and gh2 are the madmen behind rock band which
will be a much better game as it has drums and vocals in it as
well. so skip gh3 and go with rock band.
