In the little Welsh village of Cwmaman, Kelly Jones and his neighbors Richard Jones(not related)and Stuart Cable formed a cover band in 1992. From these roots in Wales would grow a rock band with great popularity across the pond.

In time, the band started writing their own songs, bringing together distinctive lyrics and Kelly's husky vocals that would eventually become Stereophonics trademark.

In 1996, they were signed to the newly formed V2 record label and released their debut album Word Gets Around the following year.

In February of 1998, Stereophonics won the coveted Brit Award for Best New Group. The award heightened the bands popularity thrusting their debut album to "Gold" status in the UK selling over 100,000 copies.

Two years after the release of their debut album, Stereophonics released the highly anticipated Performance and Cocktails that entered the UK charts at No.1. It was the bands first No.1 album and it quickly established platinum status.

After another successful tour, in April 2001 the band released Just Enough Education to Perform. This album spawned hits like, "Have a Nice Day," a cover of Rod Stewart's "Handbags & Gladrags" and the controversial "Mr Writer," that was directed at the journalists who write untrue facts about artists.

In 2003, the Stereophonics once again reinvented themselves releasing an album far so from commercial and with no pretensions. You Gotta Go There To Come Back, gave the band some of their biggest hits to date. The song was featured in many movies and on television shows soundtracks. At the same time, due to "lack of commitment" to the band, drummer Stuart Cable left the band and eventually replaced by Javier Weyler.

I've been a fan of the Stereophonics for quite a while. They
haven't received too much attention in the States for their
talent. I'm glad Kiwibox has an article about them!

"Jayne" WAS the previously unreleased Stereo song and Maybe
Tomorrow isn't the biggest hit to date...and you can also download
