Take a trip to a cushy kingdom in 16th century England or a modern-day country ravaged by civil war; it's your call. The coming months are packed with flicks designed to both entertain and feed your brain. Be sure to check your local listings; some of these cinematic gems are as rare as they are blockbuster-worthy.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age

October 12th

Cate Blanchett is back to reprise her role as Queen Elizabeth I, the power-hungry monarch from 16th century England. On board this time is Clive Owen as Sir Walter Raleigh, Elizabeth's latest love interest who seems more interested in lady-in-waiting, Bess (Abbie Cornish). As if her torrid love triangle wasn't enough, now she must contend with the Spanish King Phillip II, who has a whole armada full of trouble in store for her.

Never heard of any of those movies but that Elizabeth one I've
seen a few times on tv.
I sort of want to see O Jerusalem. I love Yerushalayim and Eretz
Yisroel, but I'm not sure if it's going to be like some other
movies that get some of the facts missing...
I just got done seeing "The Seeker" and it was amazing! That
should have been on here...but I think it was out a couple of
weeks ago, but oh well.

The only 2 movie that seem intersting is "Elizabeth: The Golden
Age" and "Saawariya." All the other ones look pretty lame and
dumb.

Oh and toryaslim1019, "Into the wild" I do believe was filmed in
South Dakota...and I live in SD. We had a viewing of it a while
back ago...I couldn't go though unfortnately.
the wackest thing i have evere herd
I am SO stoked for the golden age; I am seeing it tomorrow!
Saawariya looks kinda neeeat.
I know tons of people who have read In to the Wild, and they hate
it. I am really excited about Elizabeth: the Golden Age. I love
reading/watching things on Elizabeth I, because she's probably one
of the best rulers ever! England truly did shine because of her.
It was a time when Britain was altogether and the Arts were at its
best (I LOVE SHAKESPEARE!). Elizabeth I ROCKS!
Im looking forward to see that new Sean Penn movie that he
directed In the Wild that is based on a true story.. About a guy
that just pretty much goes in to the wild with no money or nothing
and lives. He keeps a journal and that is how they were able to
make the film.. Looks really good:)
That summary for Elizabeth: The Golden Age, isn't very good.
Elizabeth I wasn't power hungry. The main part of the story is not
her pursuing Raleigh. It's about the Spanish Armada. And what no
mention of Mary, Queen of Scots?
A lot of these movies look very interesting. I'll be sure to try
to catch them all. Sometimes it's hard to find theatres that show
smaller films that aren't all "Pirates" or "Superman"
All these movies look really good. Im actually very excited to see
them. Soo many movies, so little time.
they all look like great movies! can't wait to see them!
Invisible Children is a very eye-opening movie about the 20 year
war in Africa that is still going on today--its horrible, everyone
should try n help!
