Think PINK this October, because it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There are many way's that you can support the amazing cause. If you can't walk for the cure, you can "buy" for the cure. Many retail outlets around the nation have merchandise that you can purchase to support many different breast cancer foundations. While you are raising awareness, you can look pretty at the same time.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is an awareness program dedicated to teaching women about the importance of the early detection of breast cancer through a nationwide campaign. Twenty-two years ago, NBCAM began spreading awareness by joining forces with the American Cancer Society and their board of sponsors to spread the message that early detection of breast cancer followed by prompt treatment saves lives.

Below are a list of products composed from Seventeen and Cosmopolitan Magazine that support different breast cancer organizations:

Have your nails look polished in pink with the purchase of "Pink of Hearts" for $8 from nail company OPI, who will donate $25,000 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

If you want to show off your breast cancer awareness around your neck, head on over to your local drug store and pick up a Goody Special Edition Pink Ribbon Scarf for $5, while five percent of the proceeds will benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

Smell like a Tommy Girl, but become a more aware girl. Tommy Hilfiger will withdraw $15,000 from his bank account and donate it to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, his fragrance can be found in department stores for $52.

Become ultimately aware with the purchase of NYX cosmetics Ultimate Pearl Eye Shadow in "Baby Pink," for $6 in drugstores. NYX cosmetics will donate five percent of their proceeds to the National Breast Cancer Coalition.

Your lips are going to need to look good if you are going to be spreading the word about breast cancer awareness, try Tarte Inside Out Lipstick(tartecosmetics.com) in "Sweet Dreams" for $22. Twenty percent of retail sales will be donated to the Young Survival Coalition.

Save half a million lives by spreading the word about breast cancer awareness. Try Estee Lauder's High Gloss lip gloss in "Pink Ribbon" ($16) and she will donate half a million dollars to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Compliment your Lance Armstrong "Livestrong" bracelet with the purchase of a Susan G. Komen for the Cure Promise Ring ($5 for a pair) while 82% of the purchase price will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

Brush up on your knowledge about breast cancer, pick up a Sonia Kashuk Pink Brush Set for $20 in Target stores and 100% of all the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Support the cure on your body with the purchase of a Splendid Limited Edition Pink Camoflauge Tank Top for $42 and 25% of the proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Fancy up your feet with Avon Footworks Breast Cancer Crusade Overnight Treatment foot cream and Crusade socks for $8 at avon.com and 68% of the proceeds will benefit the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.

Whether it is buying one of these products or putting a pink ribbon magnet on your car, you can spread breast cancer awareness all year long.

www.breastcancerfund.org
is the organization I support. I like that the site gives you tips
for cutting your risk.
Panera Bread also has a bagel that is the shape of a ribbon and
proceeds go to the Komen foundation, I believe. It's tasty too.
Komen on the go just came to my campus yesterday and was giving
out the rings. They're mad cool...They also had like a video
about how to do a self breast exam...very informational stuff.
My mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last november. She went
through chemo, surgery and is starting radiation next month. For
me I try and support her and the cause as much as I can.
my dad's sister is a surviver of breast cancer
I'm all for raising awareness for Breast Cancer, and other types
of cancer - but the thing I don't like is when companies use that
to get people to buy their products.
