There are things that go "bump" in the night then there are things that just scare the bejesus out of us, like the thought of William Hung making another album (AH!). Believe it or not there are a plethora of bands that are both scary looking and scary sounding and since it is the Halloween issue Kiwibox thought it would be fitting to compile a list of our Top 10 Scariest Musicians. For some of the musicians on the list, it's Halloween all year around, their looks could terrify even Michael Myers himself. And for some it's their music that makes our ears want to bleed. Grab your favorite night lite and a baseball bat, things are about to get spooky.
10. Scary Kids Scaring Kids-- Although the band members themselves aren't too scary looking, it was their name that caught our attention. Hailing from Gilbert, Arizona Scary Kids Scaring Kids put out their first EP when they were seniors in high school (not so scary, a little premature but not scary). Since the release of their debut album on Immortal Records, the post emo-core band has toured with acts like, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Silverstein, Aiden and Funeral for a Friend. On July 4, 2007 their new song "Faces" was released, along with that freaky mask looking picture, on their MySpace and Purevolume pages.
9. Black Sabbath: Ozzy Osbourne--"SHARON!!!" Most us know Ozzy Osbourne as the oblivious and mumbling husband/father thanks to his reality show on MTV called The Osbournes. Before he was yelling at his wife and kids on national television, he was in a heavy metal band called Black Sabbath. Still, it would be Osbourne stealing the limelight from the rest of the band with his solo projects along with that incident with the live bat.
In 1981, a fan threw a live bat on stage at one of Osbourne's solo gigs, he bites its head off while supposedly thinking it's fake. The controversies don't stop there. Many Christian groups accused Osbourne of condoning devil worship and Satanism with his songs and his actions (i.e. The Devil Horns that are still used in rock music today). He was also cited for the suicide of a California teenager who killed himself while listening to an Osbourne song. While not held responsible, Osbourne can still reign true as a scary musician with both his looks and his antics.
