It's the "it" reality show of the season. Noted as a younger, L.A.-based version of Sex and the City, The Hill's and its stars claim the show is completely real. But is it? With rumors swirling, from Heidi's "job" to Lauren's "dates," will we be forced to accept that all 21-year-old blonde girls, formally of Laguna Beach with no journalistic experience, can't get a job at Teen Vogue?

ok frist of all this is my FAVORITE show. and i think it is real.
and i dont know where you got any of your info. but if you read
this weeks IN Touch Lauren talked about all these fake rummors and
explained the truth of the show so if anyone is intrested they
should READ IT!

I agree with sugar_girlie12.

And Lauren is just an intern. She doesn't contribute any writing
to the magazine, or maybe small blurbs. Mostly what magazine
interns do are get coffee and fax paperwork.

The show is very addictive, one of my favorites!!

Of course some things are staged, that's how the show becomes
addictive. You have to have settings that are staged and made up,
otherwise, the entire show would be us watching them get stampeded
by papparazzi.

Well Lauren is only an intern at Teen Vogue so its not like shes
actually paid. And second when your that rich you get what you
want without trying as hard as others.

i think this is stupid. i rly dont think it is fake. and where are
you getting your information? MTV said that some things are fake,
such as the name of the apartments where Lauren lives and they
pushed both couples into goint to Ketchup, but other than that
they have no say. these girls have families that are super rich,
so they're going to have better shots at big jobs. why does it
matter? people aren't happy anymore, until they've ruined
everything for everyone. lately people just want to see others
fail.

Wow I am so naive cuz even though I figured not everything was
real I didn't think it was this fake! I liked the article though.
I think most people watch the show as entertainment, though, and
saying it's reality or not doens't really influence much. That's
my opinion...

wow I really had no idea...lol sometimes theyre bad at even being
fake haha i love those long pauses and close-ups of "charachters"
when they dont know what to say (they just look so dumb)

but i do watch it!

real.well at some point i do thought that maybe it was all made

although i definetly wish
that i had a trailor to do my hair and makeup

theres also speculation that spencer was paid to propose to hiedi
im sure its fake but its still a good show

It's all manipulated or staged in one way or another. Genuine real
life is boring to see, otherwise we wouldn't be so interested in
seeing the glamourous lives of others!

Mostly any claimed "reality" tv show on MTV is scripted.No one
would want to watch it if it was boring so they write scripts to
kick it up a notch.I heard many of times that Lauren isn't so nice
off camera that she is really demanding and has to have things her
way.All of the cast don't even do their own makeup or hair they
even have their own trailers.But despite knowing all of these
things it's still one of my favorite shows.

I'm not surprised that there are some things on the show that
aren't exactly 'real'. But, whatever. The Hills is one of my
favourite shows, and I love it.

of course some of its fake... No one would watch a show about a
bunch of teens life, or new adults life..

it'd be boring, so of course parts of it a scripted, if not most.

but its still a good show

i don't really care.
i like the show.

and i'm not sure if you are, but if you're basing these
assumptions on current episodes keep in mind that they aren't
exactly CURRENT.
they were filmed a little while before.
