My Love Affair With Lucky Jeans

...and the cute sales guy

It was really my lucky day when I walked into the Lucky Brand Jeans store on Broadway in New York City on a crisp fall day. I had some time to kill and shopping was the best way to occupy my spare time. For the past few months I have been on a mission to find the perfect jean-perfect fit, perfect wash, perfect length...so perfect that I was beginning to think it was impossible.

I walked in the store with the intention of just looking around, that is until I met super cute sales associate Brian. I'm the type of person that usually shuns sales associates, and I did at first, "No thanks, I'm just looking," I said and turned away.

"Do you mind if I ask you a question," the cute sales associate asked. I hesitated.

"Um, OK."

I don't know if it was his sincere eyes or the fact that he actually seemed like he secretly knew my mission to find the perfect jean but I fell for it, hook line and sinker! About two minutes later I had six pairs of jeans in my arms and I was headed for the dressing room.

Lucky Brand Jeans have been rooted in Rock N' Roll and independent thinking since the creators Gene Montesano and Barry Pearlman shipped the first pair of jeans in 1990. The jeans have been renowned for their great fit, vintage and authentic feel and sense of humor.

"I just have to go check on another customer and I promise I will be right back," he said as I closed the curtain. "Oh, my name is Brian by the way."

And to all those who say its too much to pay for jeans, and that
those who can are spoiled -

I buy high end jeans b/c that way I don't have to buy a new pair
when the crappy kind fall apart or wear through in a year like
they inevitably will. Higher end jeans also fit much better and
give you a better look.

As for the money, if you've got it, then you've got it. It doesn't
make you spoiled for spending money on something that will make
you happy and feel good. When I buy my True Religion jeans (at the
outlet, btw) I spend my own money I made from working hard.

Some people can afford it and some people can't. Its a harsh fact
of life. The writer of the article luckily can afford it and was
just saying that, if you can afford it too, Lucky jeans are a
great choice.
Lucky never fits me well. I'm more of a True Religion or Sevens
type girl.
Lucky is one of my favorite denim brands. I've got an small
hourglass shape that's tricky to fit, and Lucky is the first to
truly fit me well. I've since found other brands that work well
(my new favorite is Paper Denim & Cloth), but I'll always be fond
of Lucky.
The brand of jeans that like, that aren't as expensive as these,
are the brand Silver Jeans. They run about 70$, but it's hard for
me to find jeans that fit me well, since I'm short and have no
butt lol...and they are the ones that fit and look the best on me.
As far as I know, the stores you can buy them at, are Von Maur,
Carson pirie scott, and buckle.
I fell in love with Lucky Brand jeans, as well. $89-$110 for a
pair of jeans is definitely very expensive. After I bought my
first pair at Macy's, I've stuck with getting my Lucky jeans
through cheaper means. I can get a pair of Lucky Brand jeans for
$40 at Costco. I also shop the Lucky Brand outlet stores when
they are having sales and when they offer coupons. I know that
you can get them online through eBay (as someone else had
mentioned), but I haven't done that yet. The fit is amazing, but
I also love the fact that they last for a very long time.
i like vanilla star jeans. I know no one has ever heard of them,
except for those who shop at macy's, but i love them!
this has been my fave brand of jeans for about 2 years now. they
really do have thew perfect fit, esp. cause i'm so short its hard
to me find something that isn't too long. I love em!! if u know
the fit & style u like u can find awesuly great deals on ebay.
i guess i'm just not that lucky. i'm more apt to buy a pair of
jeans at fashion bug or walmart. i have to live on a budget.

as long as my pants cover my butt, i'll be happy w/ them.
They looklikeany other jeans, for that price you could have 2
pairs at guess, at least 3 pairs at levi's and 4 pairs or more if
you are willing to search a little bit. 260$ is the amount I pay
for my rent. Is one pair of jeans worth the same amount then
living under a roof for one month?
i love them.
but im a 21 year old college student with two jobs.
I cant afford them.
Ill stick with my kohls jeans which fit pretty well too.thanks.
They sound like nice jeans but then again for $130 a pair, they
better be :p
Once upon a time I liked Lucky, but their style has changed.
The typical American teenager does not have that kinda of money to
spare. I may upset people by saying this, but "mommy and daddy"
help some teenagers out too much. These people who can go to
their parents and get $260 for a pair of teens are spoiled. I do
like to treat myself from time to time, but I feel that $260 could
get me a lot more than one pair of jeans. I guess that since I
have had at least one job since I was 15, I respect the value of a
dollar more than those who go to "mommy and daddy" for their
allowance.
They look like nice jeans, but I don't even have sixty dollars to
spend on a pair, let alone two hundred and sixty. I dunno if this
is an English thing...do American teenagers / college kids have a
lot of money to spare? Two hundred and sixty dollars is just a
little less than a month's wages for me.

That said, if they really do fit well I may well have to try some
out. When I get a better job, and don't have so many bills to
pay.

Still an interesting read though. =)
I used to like them a lot several years ago, but then they changed
how their jeans were made and I'm not really a fan anymore. I do
agree that they have really helpful sales associates though.
I never did like lucky brand.
