"Sure thing" is a term that rarely comes to mind when thinking about the music business. Still, VH1's You Oughta Know series is as close as we could possibly get to one, minus the one's who had their songs remixed by Timbaland (sometimes, it is too late to "Apologize"). The amount of successes VH1 has been able to launch is borderline remarkable, especially considering the state of album sales lately. KT Tunstall was one of their first breakout stars with her smash "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," which was quite good and different from the standard Adult Alternative fare. The song was absolutely unavoidable, which is what VH1 specializes in. With Drastic Fantastic Tunstall is back, and quite possibly better than ever, ready to build on her previous success. At first glance it definitely makes sense to judge this album by its cover, which shows Tunstall posing with a sparking guitar (losing points because it's a bass). This is not a singer-song writer cover, it's a pop star cover, and this album succeeds in that attempt by sounding like one.
