Sure the Olympics are important and an esteemed honor for a number of sports and competitors, but it's the annual Winter X Games held in either January or February of every year that slightly beat out the Olympics in the "fun" category. With more of a focus on action sports, skiers, snowboarder's and the like perform in many different categories of extreme winter sports for the coveted bronze, silver and gold medals and prize money.
Also giving the Olympics a run for their Gold Medal's, concurrent with the X Games competition is X Fest, an action sports and music festival that offers live music, athlete autograph sessions plus interactive elements. The scene of 2008's Winter X Games in Aspen, CO which was a flutter with new bands and even more awesome athletes is on its way to the history books. Live at Buttermilk Mountain this year Marion Raven took the stage, DJ Klaw, Krista, The Wildbirds, Salem and Team Facelift also provided tunes for the festival along with other acts.
