Music lovers can't help but admit that love have been the topic of some of the best and most popular songs of the past. Love songs consisting of heartfelt lyrics and the perfect melody have dominated the airwaves for quite some time now. No longer pertaining to just pop and ballads, love songs have transcended all genres of music. Although there is no official list, every once in a while there comes an inspirational love song that goes on to become a breakthrough hit. You may not necessarily agree with every song choice, but the following is the list of my top ten love songs of all time.

10. "Unbelievable" - Craig David

An England native, Craig David broke onto the music scene with his Platinum debut album, Born To Do It, but his sophomore effort, Slicker Than Your Average only reached gold status. Although he has not achieved as much success in the US, he is one of the most popular male R&B artists in the UK. His third album, The Story Goes...was never released in the U.S., but his love ballad, "Unbelievable" hit No.18 on the UK charts in 2006.

9. "Feels Like Home" - Chantal Kreviazuk

Chantal Kreviazuk is a Canadian artist who has written songs for Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, The Veronicas, and Cheyenne Kimball. Although she has had some hits, she is more known as a songwriter than a singer. She recorded a cover version of "Feels Like Home," which has been featured in the television series, Dawson's Creek and the movie, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.

why are they almost all country songs?? :S seriously.
I happen to really love the #3 choice, but it makes me think of my
daughter (who will be born sometime in the next 3 weeks), not my
husband. I do like the song that livexlaughxlove mentions better
for that kind of love (Truly, Madly, Deeply by the same group).

My personal favorite love song is Brown-Eyed Girl by Van
Morrision... but that is probably because it's our song, and the
first song we danced to at our wedding.

Amma
I disagree with some of the songs, but others you listed I agree
with! Good job!
high five to shania's from this moment on. love that song!
Thanks for all the feedback, both good and bad. I just wanted to
point out one thing...these are MY top ten favorite love songs and
by no means should it be taken as an official list. If I had
intended to please everyone's musical tastes, this list would be
nonexistent. Thanks again.

Michelle
fabolous feat. ashanti- so into you
In your eyes-Peter Gabriel Maybe I'm just a different generation.
The only good song on this list is "Don't wanna miss a thing" by
Aerosmith.
How about adding "Love Song" by The Cure,"Never Tear Us Apart" by
INXS,or "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain, just to name a few.
um.. shania twain is not the biggest selling female artist of all
time.
gregory and the hawk - boats and birds
If this was Top 10 Love Songs from the '90's, then maybe. I mean,
I guess this is just an opinion piece, but in my opinion, there
are way better love songs then any of these. Listen to
Nickleback's "Far Away" or The Fray's "Look After You"...those are
really good love songs.
they had a few good songs (kci and jojo and the bryan adams
one)..funny thing is like EVERYBODY was singing the bryan adams
hit on american idol tonight and its like stuck in my head lol but
theres a lot of songs that I think shouldve made the list (i.e. a
whitney houston hit..such a I will always love you or share my
world and celine dion..power of love played at like EVERY wedding
I've been to! and ive been to a lot!)..but the writer of the
article did state that its what THEY thought was the top 10
there are other songs that are love songs that aren't newer
country or pop songs that are way better than these! not saying
all these are bad....i like a couple but others genres got it down
too! Trivium - All The Pain in this World Can't Tear Us Apart?!
anybody? no... *sigh*
How about anything written before we were born, which are the
classics anyway! "Your Song" - Elton John, or "Wonderful Tonight"
- Eric Clapton. Or the best love song of all time, "Unchained
Melody"?!
As I was reading along I kept wondering if Shania would make it -
and there she is at number 1!!!! I totally agree with that choice
:o)
Back At One---Brian McKnight???
Not a fan of 90% of those songs, and its really country oriented,
nothing wrong with that, but there are a lot of songs out there
that are not country and are love songs.
I have to agree wtih livexlaughxlove

I love both the songs but TMD is better.
i agree!!!
In my opinion...
Truly Madly Deepy by Savage Garden trumps I Knew I Loved You by
Savage Garden
... hands down<3
