In the balmy fifty-eight degree weather of New York City, day six of fashion week began with a bang. Project Runway winner, Malan Breton, season three, was set to debut his new line at approximately 9am, in fashion week terms, more like 9:45. As we sat down we noticed visibly large gift bags complete, we would later find out, with lots of goodies including makeup, a CD and 50 dollar spa gift certificate. This show already was looking up. Malan did not leave us disappointed as Michael Buble blasted in the background and the models started to strut. The styles that presented themselves were effortlessly classy, nothing fancy-- just great cuts, amazing fits and bright colors that illuminated the catwalk. Each model wore a simple hairstyle and his inspiration, Catherine Deneuve, was apparent. A gorgeous red wool and angora belted double breasted coat was a personal favorite. Even though he had us with his gift bags, we left with the images of his collection running through our minds.
