When it comes to entertainment, there are movies that are suppose to be dumb and funny, and then there are movies that are just merely dumb. Unfortunately, Strange Wilderness is one of the latter.

The film is about a guy named Peter Gaulke (Steve Zahn). After the death of his father, Peter decides to take over as the host of his fathers' wildlife show. Peter keeps the show running, but due to low ratings, his 3am time slot and a fellow competitor (Harry Hamlin), Peter's show is in danger of being canceled.

After getting a tip-off as to where Bigfoot's cave is, Peter and his crew set off to Ecuador to find those caves. While in Central America, Peter and the "Strange Wilderness Crew" encounter numerous strange happenings with animals.
Not only are Peter and his crew looking for the secret caves of Bigfoot, his competitor is also trying to beat him out. Ultimately, it becomes a race to see who can get the footage first.

Although the movie is lacking humor and originality, it does have a pretty impressive cast. Allen Covert plays the part of Fred Wolf, Peter's film making partner. The hilarious Jonah Hill keeps us laughing as one of the crew men for the show. Ashley Scott plays the part of the extra peppy travel agent and Justin Long is pretty hilarious as one of the angst-ridden cameraman.
