Day Seven

I love 9am shows. Sure you have to get up a little earlier and your makeup wears off sometime between your fifth free cup of coffee, but you always get a great seat and generally see some of the best shows.

Tony Cohen was no different. Featuring what looked like some of the most wearable and comfortable pieces I have seen all week, Tony emphasized that fashion doesn't have to be all about designs that leave models teetering down the runway for fear of tripping and suffocating from too tight styles. Little black gloves accompanied little black dresses. All of his looks were classic pieces with shorter hems that looked as if they would never go out of style. One of my favorites from his show included a belted purple-gray leather coat with a ruffled collar making it both stylish and girly at the same time.

Bohemian elegance is the only way to describe the next show. Naeem Khan brought a different definition of glamour with each look he showcased. What he lacked in color, he made up for in intricate design and embellishment. Dresses, blouses and coats were all elaborately decorated in sparkly beading, lace-like designs or feathered detailing. I think I almost saw heaven in a dress when I gazed upon his empire-waist, cap-sleeved black chiffon evening gown with diamond-like beading around the neck, waist and arms. Sigh.
