What You Might Have Missed in Class

HIV.

Three little letters that carry so much weight. Of all the three letter abbreviations around that we are warned about, like STD and HPV, HIV seems to be the one most feared. It stands for human immunodeficiency virus, which means it's a virus that prevents your immune system from defending your body. AIDS stands for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, which is what HIV can become if it has starts to take over your body.

While sitting in the back of our classroom we can often get bored and start to space out as we are taught about various STD's and ways to avoid contracting them. Maybe the reason, we choose to only half listen to these lectures is because we never truly consider that we, the student in the classroom, could one day become the "they," the face in the textbook who is diagnosed with HIV. However, this precise mentality is what leads us to actually become a face in textbook.

Because another lecture is not what you need, Kiwibox is going to break it down for you as straight forward facts. Check them out and see if they open your eyes to anything that you might have missed out on in the classroom.
