The Past Few Years: Oscar Fashion

The Good, The Bad and the UGLY

There are fashion statements, and then there are Oscar fashion statements. The Red Carpet has seen it all from Cher's wacky Bob Mackie gowns to Bjork's Swan Lake recreation, as well as Julia and Halle's gorgeous gowns that Oscar himself would approve of. The past few years have been no exception to some Hollywood head scratchers but have also been the epitome of Hollywood glam. Below are some fashion picks from recent Academy History.

2005 Oscars
The Best

Hillary Swank
I would like to thank the Academy and Hillary's stylist for putting her in Guy Laroche's gorgeous blue gown. Although it was her performance in Million Dollar Baby that won her the Oscar gold, it was her fashion choice that won with me.

Halle Berry
This woman is flawless to me, she knows what looks good on her body, and because of this she is a constant figure on everyone's Best Dressed Lists. Halle's satin, neutral colored Atelier Versace gown was seriously the cream of the crop with its ruching and beading.

Charlize Theron
Beyond glamorous, tall, thin with a slight accent; I think I just described the perfect woman. The soft aqua color accenting her soft wavy hair didn't create a monster; it created Charlize Theron's 2005 Oscar look.

I'm with you, Raquel!

My favourite dress ever is that one Julia Roberts wore a few years
ago.. anyone know which one I mean? It was gorgeous.
I thought it was too!
I guess I'm the only one who thought that pink dress was a
monstrosity on Jessica Biel...oh well..
