Jumper, like the title of the film, can be summed up in one word: mediocre. The theatre was packed even though it was not opening night of the film, yet this particular critic was left, frankly, bored. Movies are expensive these days, and it has to be said, that audiences deserve more for their ticket than Jumper delivered.
The cast was star studded, with names such as Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Diane Lane, and even Samuel L. Jackson in the cast. Though the acting itself was at no particular the fault, the plot definitely could have used a little more effort. If the writers were not on strike while writing this script, then there is simply no excuse!
Basically, the movie consists of a teen, David, who discovers that he can teleport from any place to another. He discovers that he can rob banks and then lives off of this, rather than ever get an education to do an actual job. Note, also, that he is not a super-hero. He never thinks to use his powers to do something noble or for something other than for his own self-interest.

excuse for Hollywood to make even worse sequels of this movie. The
way this movie was made was designed exactly for that.
Such a shame, since the concept for the film had great potential.
