So I Like Playing Video Games...

"Female" is only two letters off from "male", right?

I just wish that guys wouldn't be so...stereotyping when playing games with girls. I even remember an article in Game Informer Magazine that said:

"There's one thing about video games that I just can't figure out. Why is it so hard for most women to understand video game controls? My girlfriend complains that the games I buy are too hard and complicated. Now, is that our fault as men? I tried to explain to her that it was because a portion of her brain was smaller than mine. The number of women gamers is growing, but there are so many women who can't experience great games like Okami, God of War, or even Legend of Zelda because their brains can't handle more than three face buttons. I think developers should create a specific difficulty mode for women: 'Girlie.' Don't get me wrong, I love ladies. I just hate having to turn off my game because my girlfriend can't figure it out."

The next issue, of course, was flooded with responses to this one, all women who were offended and believe that the guy who wrote this was the most idiotic person on earth, each providing an example to why they aren't some girly-girl who can't figure out controls. This guy, along with a vast majority of male gamers, I'm sure, need to realize that, just because we're a different gender doesn't mean that we're any different when it comes to games.

I like Monopoly and Dressup-type games as well, but I just don't
like the discrimination that goes along with being a girl gamer.
):
I like games such as bratz and lots of stuff like monopoly games
and dressup games.
This articles very true. I am a hard core gamer and you can
pretty much call me a girly girl too. Guy found it very hard to
beleive that I played games as much as I do. As a child I would
be in ruffley dresses, haveing tea parties all the time then go
play mortal kombat and zelda and my mom would be right next to me
playing too. I get the same feeling from gamestop too. Though I
always wanted to work there and go to work each day in skirts and
bright colors to stand out from the grungy guys there to show
people that real girls can be gamers too.
