"All I want
Is right here
But love don't live here anymore
And love don't live here anymore" --Love Is Dead

A song title like "Love Is Dead" is not something one would expect from a precocious looking, pretty blonde girl. In fact, Kerli's music is the complete antithesis of her image. Born in Estonia in a tiny town of 5,000 people, Kerli, at a young age was eager to escape. Having big dreams and the urge to move on to something better was almost taboo in her town.

"Where I come from, it was a shame to show your emotions," Kerli says. "You could never be too happy, because something bad might happen. I was always a passionate person. I wanted to live every moment. I looked around me, and it was beautiful, but I wanted something more."

Focusing on her dreams at hand, and ignoring her culture and material things Kerli pursued singing, ballet, acting and classical piano. After winning Euroalaul, an annual televised competition, Kerli decided to focus more on singing. L.A. Reid, who has had his hand in Janet Jackson and Pink's careers, signed Kerli on the spot after she auditioned.

From what you described, and the music she makes seem like two
different things. She reminds me of a young Bjork or like the
lead singer of the Knife. :D Decent music and a haunting voice.
:D Thanks for writing this article!

God Bless ~Amy
