It's week two of American Idol's race to the Top 12, as once again 10 guys and 10 girls will attempt to each the final six spots in their gender. Just like last week having a theme night of 1960's, this week was all about music from the 70's. That covered a lot of great music, from disco to classic rock to the folk rock movement, but would the idols be able to handle it? Even though they're being touted as the most impressive group yet, there is a clear indication of who will be going far and who will soon be eliminated.
Here For The Long Run
It was pretty clear who will most likely end up in the finals this year. Carly Smithson of course was able to pull herself out of what Simon called a dull performance last week and really step up her game with her favorite song, Heart's "Crazy On You." David Hernandez wowed the judges with "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", and proved that he is more than worthy of his spot in the finals. Michael Johns and Asia' Epperson also proved that they have the vocal chops to make at least the final five. While all four of these performers were good, they all must realize who the clear front runner is to take the title of American Idol 7.
