Whenever Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey team up to star in a romantic comedy, you can expect great things. I thought the chemistry between the two in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days was phenomenal. So I was expecting the same chemistry and "magic" from Fool's Gold. I was slightly disappointed.
The movie is about a broke treasure hunter, Benjamin Finnegan (McConaughey) who finds love with a woman Tess (Hudson) while she's on her spring break. They get married and start to treasure hunt together. After years of treasuring hunting and to no success, Tess decides she wants to get a divorce.
So finally in the process of their divorce, Ben finds the remaining piece to a puzzle that he and Tess were trying to figure out. He ends up trying to search for it since he owes a guy named Cordell (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) a lot of money.
