Dave Grohl spits A LOT. I estimate he spat about once every two songs at his February 19th at Madison Square Garden. With a raptoresque posture the Foo Fighter's front man prowled the stage and spat seemingly to both reassert to himself that the moment was actually real and also to very clearly mark his territory. This dichotomy defined this special night for the band and their fans. This was the first time the Foo Fighters or Grohl have headlined Madison Square Garden in their storied histories. A fact that is not lost on Grohl; with his first address to the very much sold-out audience he exclaimed, "we're playing Madison Square f***ing Garden tonight." It seemed like Grohl truly couldn't believe that his life has lead him to that stage but as the spitting revealed he was setting out to make the arena his.
Grohl was running around like a possessed chicken with his head cut off and screaming like he would be content with never speaking again if it would guarantee he gave his all that night. Similarly, his Pips were giving there all to support Grohl because it seemed even they knew that this was his night.
