The great thing about being a game developer is that you can integrate all kinds of wacky concepts and personal touches into your games. Such is the case with the Destroy All Humans! series, which reflects the developers' love/hate relationship with old school sci-fi alien flicks. The first game spoofed 1950's alien movies, the second 1960's alien movies, and the latest installment for the Wii is all about kittens. Kidding! The 1970's-based Big Willy Unleashed is the biggest and craziest yet. Ken Allen gave us the lowdown on the new game, and don't forget to check out his extensive laundry list of sci-fi faves at the end.

Kiwibox: For those who are new to Destroy All Humans!, could you give us a recap on what the series is all about?

Ken Allen: After tens of thousands of years' exposure to warfare radiation, Furons are sterile and their scientists use cloning to perpetuate the species. Unfortunately it gets to the point where further cloning with will only result in degrading the race to the point where Furons would become the galaxy's space hillbillies.

It is proposed the DNA of humans could be used for Furon cloning. Wasting no time, the Furon Emperor orders samples of human DNA be collected immediately, and the mission is assigned to one Cryptosporidium 136.

Unfortunately, Crypto 136's flying saucer crash-landed in Roswell NM and Crypto 136 has been captured. Word of this reached the Emperor in the early fifties (setting for DAH1), so Cryto 137 was sent out to finish the job, and harvesting continued into the sixties (setting for DAH2).

Our game takes place in the seventies and fast-food is all the rage. Pox has set up a fast food restaurant chain to act as a cover for converting the escalating body-count from the first two games into protein-rich wieners served Soylent Green style at the friendly and ubiquitous fast food chain,
Big Willy's - over ten million humans served!
