MTV's Spring Break

A look back at years of debauchery.

I still vividly remember the day MTV set up camp on my beloved Jersey Shore for their annual Spring Break hoo-rah back in 2002. I felt angry. I felt disillusioned. I felt like somebody had clearly blown the network's travel expenses on their previous excursion (Kurt Loder, I'm looking at you) to Key West, because of all the cheap and tawdry coastal cities in the world, why Seaside Heights? But in the end, despite the SUVs packed full of feral, faux-tanned bennies that had the locals constantly cursing under their breath, it was a match made in daytime TV heaven: Bellyrings flew off the shelves, the boardwalk emerged tattered but prosperous, and Carson Daly had all the porkroll he could eat.

Before we delve into this year's roster of thought-provoking shows for MTV's Spring Break '08 lineup, let's take a look back at some memorable moments of Spring Breaks past.

2005 - Cancun

Ah, 2005. Has it really been three years since a guest appearance by Paris Hilton went from being mildly amusing to a straight-up nuisance? Other stars that popped up during this Spring Break were Lindsey Lohan, 50 Cent, Rob Sneider and Jimmy Fallon. (Whatever happened to him?)

just the last 4 spring breaks? Key West was a fun one. I remember
BSB was down there, and had their own special. Too bad AJ was very
drunk and high as a kite though (this was before rehab). The guys
were hilarious. I have it on tape somewhere, actually.
