If you ask Tristan Prettyman to describe her music in one word, she might give you three, but hey at least she'd be right. "I'd like to think my music is timeless," the petite freckled brunette says candidly after pausing for a moment. Through her modesty she quickly adds in the fact that she is unsure whether it is actually timeless or not, but that is her goal-- "to make music that withstands eras." "Real" and "Honest," are the next on the list, and while she doesn't have the physical evidence for the first virtue, we can certainly attest to the latter two. After sitting down with this up-and-coming singer and songwriter, even just for the brief fifteen minutes we chatted, you can tell she exudes this aura which is both laid back, relatable and most importantly real.

All too many times, new artists bend-over-backwards to make sure they say the right things, act in the proper way and become the role model that maybe they were never cut out to be. In the end it all comes out, we won't mention any names, but Tristan is one of those rare young artists that makes an effort to not start out fake. She's honest from the gecko whether it is through her lyrics, through her myspace, or simply through everyday conversation.

"hollywood" types. she's never been that.
