Considering that just about every movie on the planet is filmed in the Los Angeles area, it's no wonder that this region has played an integral role in a ton of scripts, too. And why not? The weather's great, the stars are there, and palm trees always look good in the background. Here's a list of movies that location played a very big part in.

Beverly Hills Cop

Before he was getting comfy in fatsuits, Eddie Murphy was playing renegade cop Axel Foley in Jerry Bruckheimer's highest grossing film of all time until Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl topped it in 2003. Axel's adventure takes him all over Beverly Hills - Well, more accurately, his "crappy blue Chevy Nova"does. An early demonstration of his comedic prowess, he finds a creative way of stalling a car using a banana.

Born in East L.A.

Leave it to Cheech Marin to take the slightest crumb of a parody and run with it. In this case, Born in East L.A. began as a song parody of Bruce Springteen's "Born in the USA." He later developed it into a film about being wrongfully deported to Tijuana, Mexico, by a crooked cop. Cheech makes the most of his little vacation though, and even teaches fellow deportees how to speak like they're from

It's nice to watch a movie about Beverly Hills.But I'm only
allowed to watch some of those movies.
