Making her Fashion Week debut, Alexis LaMontagna is a young, hip and sweet as pie up and comer. Tall, thin and gorgeous this Los Angeles native, (who could easily be a model herself) drew her inspiration for her Fall 2008 collection from her experiences frequenting the punk rock and art scene in Hollywood and Downtown L.A. LaMontagna showcases an edgy (sometimes slightly dangerous), classy and sexy image for the woman who isn't afraid to take some risks (in fashion and in life). Her collection is straightforward and well made (don't believe us? LaMontagna proves it by stitching a pencil skirt inside out).
At first glance, you might think that you accidentally walked into a Rancid music video...if they went Goth and were disguised as Jean Harlow. LaMontagna challenges all things haute couture with her Fall 2008 collection and redefines traditional norms to reflect the utmost irreverence of a younger generation. Accented with rosary beads, exposed zippers and torn stockings Goth glam was seen in a more classy light.
