The success of the Wii Virtual Console and XBox Live Arcade have led developers to begin re-releasing their classics so a new generation can discover them, and the last generation can re-discover them. Of all the publishers to use downloadable games to their advantage, Capcom, the company behind classics such as Resident Evil and Mega Man, have shot ahead right out of the gate.
So far, Capcom has re-released its classic fighting game, "Street Fighter II" on both the Wii and XBox 360. The port has sold extremely well on both and has allowed Capcom to begin work on "Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix," allowing the company to add even more suffixes to the game's line. The game will include two modes: a straight port of "Super Street Fighter II Turbo," and an updated version with over 100 changes including online versus mode, voice chat, statistics tracking, 16:9 aspect ratio and 1080p display for HDTVs.
