With last year's Live Earth and eco-friendly tour promoters like Reverb, music and the green movement have been successfully working together to save the planet. And now Green Owl Records has joined the fight to save the planet with a new compilation, The Green Owl Comp: A Benefit for the Energy Action Coalition. Dropping on April 8 -- two weeks before Earth Day -- the double-disc album features big name artists such as Bloc Party, Feist, Muse, and Young Love, as well as not-so-known names like Satori and The Exit, who are signed to Green Owl Records.

The compilation also includes a DVD featuring music videos from some of the featured artists and Billy Parish, the founder of Energy Action Coalition.

The compilation stemmed from an idea that Parish and label founders Ben Brewer, Stephen Glicken and Abreu had to raise awareness of the environment and the organization through a show or benefit. "We would meet up at Billy's apartment to listen to possible tracks for the compilation and talk about how we could distribute it," Abreu said. "Then Green Owl started to form."
