Supima Cotton

The Company, The Store, The Party

There is nothing softer than cotton and Supima knows the value of this material more than anyone. Since 1954, this company has dealt with contributing their famous "world's finest" superior American Pima cotton (Superior + Pima = Supima) to famous brands across the United States, and now they are going on step further. On March 13th 2008, in the middle of one of New York City's darkened downtown cobblestone streets, Supima threw an all-white party-- an obvious homage to their cotton, to celebrate the opening of its first soho "store."

From seven to ten, guests clad in all forms of white, including celebrity names like Sherri Saum from Rescue Me and Jennette McCurdy lead actress of Nickelodeon's iCarly and more, flocked to 72 Greene Street to browse the racks consisting of some of the softest shirts, pants, undergarments and nightgowns ever felt.

The term "store" is used loosely because what this company is doing does not constitute a boutique in the traditional sense. Slated to open to the public the following day, March 14th, the store will allow shoppers to slowly peruse and purchase their items from 11am to 7pm, seven days a week, until its d-day on April 13th. This is the day, patrons must say goodbye forever to this retail tease and go back to purchasing what is known as the "cashmere of cottons" in their regular locations. They don't call this a "pop up" store for no reason.
