Usually when I click over to the Sundance channel, it's because I'm sick of the other movie channels' constant rotation of Norbit and I've had my fill of Celebreality for the week. In other words, I need sustenance. The channel's latest offering provides just that: The Green is Sundance's destination for environmentally conscious programming, the first of its kind on TV. The Green began in April of 2007, and the second season of shows begins on April 1st at 9pm. On the roster for this year are new episodes of Eco-Biz, a show about people and businesses that are paving the way for environmental innovation, and Ecoists, a show about some of the most notable environmental activists of our day (Morgan Freeman and Moby are just a few of the activists highlighted). Another show on the schedule is Big Ideas for a Small Planet, a documentary series that Kiwibox had the opportunity to catch a sneak peek of.
I honestly hadn't realized that there was enough material out there to create an entire series about green-minded products, designers, and processes, but I apparently know naught about the future of environmentalism. In case you're not familiar with the show, each episode has a different environmental theme and profiles people who are scientists, entrepreneurs, designers, and more who are working toward a greener future.
