Finally, the spring beauty collections hit stores

A few issues back we gave you a spring beauty preview- the inside scoop on what the designers paired with their outfits for the Spring 2008 RTW collections. Now, finally, we give you the scoop on how to achieve it all.

Burberry Prorsum, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, and Thakoon are just a few designers that had their models' tresses styled to look as if there was effort, but no fuss (think: waking up the day after a blow-out). Stylists at other shows like Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Ralph Lauren or Zac Posen pulled hair back off of the models' faces into simple chignons or pony-tails.

If you have straight hair, the look is pretty simple to achieve. Just apply a leave-in conditioner (try Garnier Fructis Leave-In Conditioning Cream Sleek and Shine, $4.00) and either let your hair dry naturally or blow-dry hair upside down for added volume. Don't be so fussy with trying to get the perfect blow-out. This is a look that's meant to be kept a little untamed, and if you've got naturally straight hair, this look is perfect for you!

If you have curly or wavy hair, apply Kerastase Lait Nutri-Sculpt ($29.00, kerastase-usa.com) to damp hair. Then, using your fingers or a paddle brush, blow-dry your hair. You can smooth a straightening iron over the top portion of your hair, but don't be too obsessive with trying to get it perfectly sleek. You want the "I partied too much last night to care about how I look" hair, not "I just got back from my stylist because I have nothing else to do" hair.

If you're following in the footsteps of the stylists at Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Ralph Lauren, Zac Posen, or Donna Karan all you need is a comb, a round brush, and some hair spray (plus a hair elastic and some pins for post-styling).

Start by teasing, or backcombing, sections of hair so that you've got some volume before you pull it all back. Spray each section as you go. Don't over-do it or you'll have a tough time getting it back neatly. You want just enough volume underneath so that it's not completely flat. With the round brush, just brush it all backwards making sure there are no bumps, parting of hair, or split ends sticking up. Secure it into a pony tail with the elastic. From here you can either leave it, or if you want you can twist the hair into a simple bun (resembling a conch shell). Secure it with about seven bobby pins or until you feel it is in place. It's the perfect 'do for the typical, dreaded, spring rain/humidity.
