American Idol: Top 10

Playing it a bit too safe.

Another week, another theme on American Idol Season 7. This week we're treated to an interesting theme choice, the songs are coming from the year that each idol was born. With this theme the idols are going to be able to choose from a much wider array of songs, and the audience will be able to hear music made between the late 1970's till 1990. While some chose songs that made them standouts, there were unfortunately some other forgettable performances as well. Is it possible that some of the Idols feel that since they made the tour they can play it safe? Or did some just choose favorite songs that didn't make an audience connection whatsoever? Another Idol was sent home this week, and for once, it wasn't the girl who's been in the bottom three every week since the semi-finals.

Patriotism At Its Best
Kristy Lee Cook has been in trouble since she was in the top 24, but this past week she finally impressed the judges. Some may say she was lucky to have been born in the year that the song "God Bless The U.S.A."ï¿1/2 debuted, prompting every red blooded American to run out and vote for her. Whether she chose the song because she liked it or knew singing it would gather votes, the trick worked and when it came down to letting her know if she made the bottom three or was safe, Ryan finally got to tell her she would be making it through to the following week. Next week is scheduled to be Dolly Parton and Country week, can the country singer pick another right choice and make it another round? She may be low on the favorites end to win, but at least Kristy is trying to put up a fight.
