Pucca

Toon Disney's latest anime.

I always figured I was just a weird kid.

When I used to watch Looney Toons I always rooted for the exact opposite of who you were supposed to root for. For example, I always wanted to Coyote to catch the Roadrunner. How could you not? The coyote was just a starving man of science trying to get himself a snack. Bugs Bunny was kind of a jerk and I would have never minded seeing Elmer Fudd or Yosemite Sam put two between his eyes. Sylvester should have gotten that dumb bird eventually. In a way, Looney Toons was teaching kids terrible things. Tweety, Bugs and the Roadrunner were all cocky, arrogant jerks but always came out on top in the end.

But the worst Looney Toon of all was Pepe le Pew. His persistent stalking of Penelope Pussycat was revolting, even at age five. First off he was French and nobody likes the French. Secondly, the little pervert skunk should have been jailed for his sexual assaults; forcibly groping and kissing the poor cat any time he was able to get in close proximity of her. Restraining order, anyone?

These feelings of unbridled hatred for cartoon characters came back to be while watching Pucca, an American anime-style cartoon for kids. The show is Japanimation 101 for kids, specifically young girls, with its Hello Kitty styled, disproportioned characters and abundance of hearts and kittens.

The source material for this review is a DVD release of episodes
shown on the Disney channel. The Korean flash it may have
originated from is irrelevant. Also boiling rabbits is a reference
to the film "Fatal Attraction."
I agree with everyone else. This articul is poorly written.
There's waaay to many opinions than facts.

I love the french.
"First off he was French and nobody likes the French"

FUCK YOU.

Who ever wrote this article needs to be fired from being a kiwi
writer. How the hell did something like this get approved?! And
put on the front page? This is crap. Whoever wrote this sounds
like a psycho.
i was kinda like that too. & i still am a little. like with
tom&jerry. after i first started watching it i was always rooting
for jerry the kute mouse u knw? but it got annoying and he was
just so evil to tom sometimes!
ya but u sound angry i mean its just cartoons. no big deal.
that pucca thing looks retarded. never heard of it till today and
there r really dumb shows like that i know but what can ya do?
As mentioned before, Pucca didn't even originate in America.
Someone should remove this article.
"I can’t see it being worth anyone’s time unless you’re looking to
start your daughter on the fast track to boiling rabbits. "

Boiling rabbits? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

What a poorly researched article =(
i did not even know there was a show like that i did not know it
exsited. but i growed up to the looney toons i still like them. it
is just a cartoon for kids the chasses are funny to the kids
I totally agree with Moe231. Do some research before you write
something like this. Pucca is created by a Korean company and I
absolutely LOVE her! So I find this almost insulting that you are
writing something you don't even know much about. Besides why are
you taking this so seriously? Cartoons aren't suppose to be taken
seriously you are suppose to just laugh at the silly situation.
Even little children I'm sure can differentiate what is right and
wrong. So my question is what is the purpose of writing this? To
tell everyone you hate cartoons? Well children love it and it will
be around forever.
First off, if you're going to write a review, do some research
first. Pucca isn't Japanimation, it's an online flash animation by
the Korean company Vooz. Even a 5 second google/wiki search
could've provided you with that.
Secondly, the humor's lost on those who haven't seen the
originals. Garu may not seem like he likes Pucca, but he does his
fair share of provoking/hanging around her. The American animation
series is the watered down, Americanized, and crappy writing
version of the Korean. Instead of getting your panties into a
bunch, just switch the channel or better yet--go outside and quit
festering behind your computer or in front of your TV about
cartoons.
Why take this so seriously? Pucca is just a story about a girl
crazy in love with a boy named Garu. It's not meant to be taken
seriously. When I watched one episode, I just think "Silly Pucca!"
just like I would think "Silly Coyote!" or "Silly Elmer!" when I
watched Looney Tunes.

Kids could be watching worse shows. Like Spongebob. *shudder
i didnt know pucca is a show? i just thought it was an asian thing
lol cuz my sister went through a pucca phase. =P
Pucca has been around for years! I love the anime. It's so cute
and fun. ^^
Is this aricle serious or just a joke? Haven't you got an ounce of
humour in you? Looney tunes {bugs Bunny, Wiley Coyote, et al} were
hilarious both for kids & adults.

Sure there was content that was questionable even when the
cartoons came out much less by today's standards but I remember
knowing what was right from wrong but laughing at the
ridiculousness of the situations.
Today's cartoons though are nothing but mindless annoying drivel.
How any child can watch it is beyond my comprehension and why any
self respecting parent would allow their child to watch most of
them also defies common sense.
I think you need to lighten up, get a sense of humour and learn to
laugh.
I must comment on one positive thing and that is your aticle was
very well written and thought out.
