Remember that one scene in Clueless where Cher is picking out an outfit from her motorized closet using her seemingly endless computer database of outfits? What girl didn't long for such a program, where you could try out different looks before even touching a hanger? Unless you're an Olsen twin, you probably don't own racks and racks of clothing with extras stowed away in storage. But imagine if you could put together a look, accessories and all, without putting forth the effort of trying anything on. (Lazy: the new inventive.) Barbie iDesign lets you do just that: choose from various tops, bottoms, and accessories to find the looks you like the best. It beats those dreaded three-sided mirrors at the mall, that's for sure.
With prom rearing it's anxiety-ridden, tiara-ed head around the corner, we thought the Barbie iDesign software would be a fun way to try out new styles before the big night.
Although the packaging for the software is huge (and consequently not very Earth-friendly), I was under the impression that this would be a fairly complicated undertaking. However, this isn't so. After taking all of two minutes to install the software, all you need to do is plug your credit card swiper into a USB port, and you're ready to go. The game comes with about 50 design cards. Each individual card has a picture of a model (Barbie and friends) or a top, a skirt, a dress, shoes, or a different accessory.
