Ever since the Wayans' brothers were in the Scary Movie spoofs, I've loved the spoof genre. But after more and more spoof movies came out, my enthusiasm for the genre has dissolved greatly. The Wayans' brothers are no longer in any of the movies and seeing Carmen Electra and Pamela Anderson play the "hot girls" in each movie gets old quickly.

Epic Movie and Date Movie were kind of funny, but Meet the Spartans was horrible, and Superhero Movie is basically the same way. Superhero Movie is a movie that makes fun of...you guessed it! Superheroes!

It's about a teenage boy named Rick Riker (Drake Bell) who gets bit by a dragonfly and ends up getting its powers (except he can't fly). Rick is in love with the school beauty, Jill Johnson (Sara Paxton), and he wants to tell her the truth but must conceal his identity. Leslie Nielsen plays the part of Rick's uncle and his character is the same character he plays in every other movie.

As Rick is learning how to use his powers, he must battle the evil Hourglass (Chris McDonald) who has to kill and steal in order to stay immortal. The movie is almost identical to Spiderman and the only differences are the different actors and a couple of jokes and satire.
