You probably know her best as the voice of Kim Possible or for her role as Ren Stevens on the Even Stevens, but Christy Romano has another talent you may not know about: She can ice skate like it's her job because, well, it is. In Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dream, Christy plays the tough-as-nails ice skating coach Jackie Dorsey. Read on as she gives us an exclusive behind the scenes look at the movie and tells us what really happens on the ice.Kiwibox: The Cutting Edge series has always revolved around the intense relationships that figure skaters have. Does the new movie follow the same theme?
Christy: It's the same thing, these are just two different people falling in love. When you look at it, ice skaters always get together when they're in pairs. It's kind of inevitable. There's so much chemistry and there's so much you have to do with the person - you have to win, you have to lose, and you have to do it based on how well you touch each other. I see it on location in movies. You fall in love with your costars because that's your job.
You have to have that kind of chemistry to work together, right?
You really do; it's life or death out there.
What's your character, Jackie Dorsey like?
Jackie is so great, man. She actually was supposed to be a little bit meaner in this one because she's older and wiser. But we changed it up because she doesn't need to be angry and bitter. Her love is ice skating and it always will be. She's got the gold, and I don't think she's ever been the kind of person who worried about getting the gold more than once. I hope that if they do a 4th one they'll bring back Ross Thomas and that he and Jackie get back together.
