We may not always agree with what the hunky and abrasive judge, Simon Cowell, has to say on American Idol, but he did make one remark that we can't help to see his point: "I think she's one of the best singers we've seen in this country for a long, long time."
Cowell was talking about the 2006 winner of X Factor (the UK's equivalent of American Idol where he is also a judge), Leona Lewis, who is currently taking over radio waves with her No. 1 hit "Bleeding Love."
Cowell, who rarely is at a loss for words, was stunned into silence during one of Lewis' performances on the British talent show. He was so convinced that she was the next big thing that he personally phoned the head honcho of J Records, Clive Davis, and said he had the next Whitney Houston.
"Simon is a good guy," Lewis states. "Everyone has this thing about him that he is really mean because he gives those really brutally honest comments but he really is a good guy at heart and I have never experienced a negative side of him."
