Garden Party Paradise

As Meryl Streep says in The Devil Wears Prada, "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking." Really, what would Spring runways be without their quintessential floral theme? There was something different, though, this year about the displays of garden power. Everything had edge to it. These ensembles were certainly not for the older lady-who-lunches; more like the fashionista-who-parties...which is perfect for us!

Alessandro dell'Acqua, Donna Karan, Louis Vuitton and Temperley were all collections that had pastels, florals and other spring-like themes integrated into the collections. However, Louis Vuitton showed tons of patent leather on shirts, skirts, etc. Temperley paired cocktail dresses with a more masculine, flat shoe. Dell'Acqua's flowers and waist-cinching belts were abstract and anything but apropos for the country club.

Bottom line, this year's graduation parties should be entertainingly exciting. Here, we've put together a few outfits and thrown out some ideas and accessories for you to toy with. To make the transition easier throughout colder days, try wearing leggings or footless tights underneath, or swap a tank for a light sweater.
