Ashlee Simpson has mentioned numerous times in interviews that she is always late. So you can imagine my surprise when her "people" called 10 minutes early. There was a connection and then I heard the raspy voice that we have all come to know and love. 
"Heyyy," Ashlee says. Already I like her, I feel like I am conversing with one of my girlfriends over the phone. Maybe that's her appeal to most young girls in America and across the world. According to Ashlee however, she is currently living in a Bittersweet World, or at least that's what her latest album is called. Due to hit store shelves and a plethora of I-pod play lists on April 22, 2008, Simpson said that this time she just wanted to have some fun. With some strong 1980's vibes, and help from everyone's favorite producer Timbaland, Ashlee says she truly thinks she took her album to a different place.
Her new roster of producers Timbaland, Chad Hugo from the Neptunes and new comer Kenna all helped Ashlee craft her new sound, and gave her a few sleepless nights in the process.
"We would sometimes go to 4 A.M." she says. "It was destiny to work with Kenna, he's like a big brother to me now."
