It was a mixed week on American Idol that left the girls in trouble and the guys with praise. Mariah Carey, undoubtedly one of the most successful female artists of all time, graced the Idols with her voice, talent, songs, and even helped out the group as their mentor. So would anyone prove they are worthy enough to tackle the songs by this five octave ranged vocalist?
David Archuleta - Repetitive?
OK, so he sang the poop out of Mariah's big duet with Whitney Houston, "When You Believe." But I hate to say it again, he's got to start lightening up and have some fun. When we get to this stage in the competition, it goes from thinking about who's been good from week to week to considering who we would want to buy an album from. While Archuleta is displaying a great voice, he's got to branch out from the teeny boppers and adults who would be OK with their kids listening to him. Otherwise, he's going to end up the opening act for The Jonas Brothers and appearing at Nickelodeon Kid Choice Awards.
