Truth be told--and I hate to admit this--I am not the most eco-friendliest of people. I try to recycle, use organic products and save energy, but all too often I let a plastic bottle slip into the regular garbage bin, settle for items where I am lucky if I can pronounce any of the ingredients and come home to an apartment that is fully lit. That might be why, when I heard about Think PR's Earth Day event held at the Nikon-sponsored Colorado Gallery in New York City, I initially approached the idea with a bit of trepidation. Would I be scolded for my light green ways? We always hear about the negatives: global warming, the various ways in which we are destroying the world, so on and so forth... I am certainly not saying that these issues are unimportant in any way, shape or form but sometimes it is just nice to focus on the positive. The celebration of Earth Day should not be one of gloom and doom, but instead a day to rejoice and commemorate all that our planet has to offer us. I soon learned that Think PR and Nikon had it right with their Earth Day extravaganza, neither was I yelled at nor informed of all the harm we were inflicting upon our planet when Kiwibox was invited along for the ride. Instead I got to observe all the organic products and services available to the general public, which only got me extremely excited--and less nervous--to dedicate my efforts towards a greener lifestyle. And as a former ecologically unconscious citizen of the world, I am sure, after reading this and watching the interviews, that they will make you just as excited!
