Just in case you haven't heard the news, Kiwibox is getting major makeover. We're not just talking looks here - although the new site is rather easy on the eyes, if we do say so ourselves. Not only will Kiwibox 2.0 help you connect to your friends and make new ones, we'll keep you on top of the latest trends and entertainment news as they're happening. The best part? The new Kiwibox is created for you, by you. Here's the scoop on what you can expect to see on the new site in the coming weeks.

If your favorite teen mag and social network decided to have a baby, that baby would be Kiwibox 2.0. One half online magazine, one half social network, and one hundred percent awesome, you can customize your Kiwibox homepage however you want to. Create a profile and add as many pictures as you like. Your profile picture and status will remain on the left side of screen no matter where you head on the site for easy navigating. You'll even have your own personal news feed with only the news that you care about. Head over to your friends' profiles and comment up a storm. Feeling creative? Get your blog on in your own journal, and comment on your friends' journals too.

Maybe it's because I have been on this site since 99' (which you
can tell by my cheesy screen name -- and holy crap, I feel old)
but I don't know how I feel about the whole social networking
facelift. I might be in the minority here, but I kind of like it
the way it is. I network with my friends, etc on Facebook and
Myspace.

Oh, and furthermore, there are alot of younger girls on this site
(12-15yrs of age), and some of them (maybe most of them) may not
foresee the consequences of posting personal information-
especially pictures of themselves on a site that literally
millions of people have access to. Youtube and myspace already
have the ruining futures and lives thing down, kiwibox should
remain a safe haven and be as anonymous as possible.

Please give us an option instead. It looks a bit like MySpace and
I already go there. I love the original layout with the kiwi
background and everything. Right now, I have Kiwibox as my
homepage on my browser. But if you're going to change the layout,
then I'll change my homepage address.

once all the bugs are taken out, this is going to be awesome.
it's going to have all the same cool kiwi stuff that makes it
kiwi,b ut with all this cool new stuff. it's like kiwibox
enhanced. 2.0 is a good name. "One half online magazine, one
half social network, and one hundred percent awesome" still
keeping it a 100% original and different site!

I like the new look. Yes, it's different, but it's a much needed
change. I've been here since 2002 and have anxiously been waiting
on a new design/layout. I'm finally getting it now, so yay! :)

I wouldn't worry so much about the haters...loyal Kiwibox users
will stay around. :)

I have to say, I'm not excited for the New Kiwibox.
I've been on here for many years now.
And I've loved the fact that Kiwibox has been different.
But now, with the new makeover, it's going to be no different than
Myspace or Facebook.
And that irritates me a little bit.

I like the idea of making Kiwibox more modern, but why make it
look like every other website?

Kiwibox has always been it's own little thing.
Why not keep it that way by yes, updating the look.... but not
making it another myspace or facebook.

I think since so many people are some-what upset at the change,
maybe there should be an option to have your main page be viewable
in "Classic" or "New" mode. MySpace has that option and I
personally keep mine on the "Classic" view, not because I like it,
but because it's more simplistic and seems 'lighter' too [no
flashing/spinning do-dads all over the place].

Just an idea to think about....
