Mother's Day is coming up, and the older we get, the more mothers we seem to know! It's hard enough taking care of your own mom when it comes to Mother's Day, but what about your boyfriend or girlfriend's mom? They deserve recognition too.
The first thing that you need to decide is if it is appropriate at all to get his mom a gift for the occasion. If you've been dating for less then two or three months, a gift may seem a little weird. However, if you're in an in between phase of relationship status, that is, you've been dating long enough to think you might need to get her a gift, but not so long that you are 100% positive you're supposed to, then you might feel a little distressed over the day. Luckily, there are a lot of safe, but nice gifts that you can give your boyfriend's mom, if you're out of ideas, but still want her to know that she's a special mom too!
Flowers

Flowers are such a simple but timeless gesture. Flowers, no matter what they cost, make a statement that you recognize the occasion, but they never seem overdone or overwhelming. You can avoid roses though, especially if you have not been dating your boyfriend for that long. Unless, you specifically know that she loves roses of course. Summery, colorful bouquets are good for Mother's Day, and you can ask your boyfriend what her favorite flower is!
